We will be hosting a free virtual mending workshop on Sunday, February 21 from 1 PM – 3 PM as a pilot for future virtual workshops! This workshop will also be observed by one of our Research Interns to collect data for her graduate thesis.
The goal of the research study is to explore the effects of mending activities in an educational setting on participants’ perceived aptitudes, confidence, and mood and will be connected to a larger study on the place of mending in today’s global fashion industry. Data collection will include two short questionnaires and mood self-assessments.
The workshop is an opportunity to learn how to mend damaged clothing for continued use! Embroidery and darning techniques will be covered in this class.
