This course is a quilter’s dream! Don’t buy packs of factory dyed fabrics for your quilts, learn to dye your own! In this class, you will learn the techniques of how to dye your own fabric with little water and in the least amount of time. Each participant will leave the course with 9 yards of dyed fabric in every color and shade of the rainbow. We can manipulate the fabric to get different markings or have your pieces a solid color. Participants will use MX Reactive dyes, which are versatile and simple to use. Come away with 3 variations of the same color way (light, medium, dark) of your rainbow palette. You will be dying 12 fat quarters at a time; however, we will prepare all 36 fat quarters before we begin. You will learn different ways of preparing the fabric for different varying results such as a solid or more mottled effect. This course is perfect for beginners and anyone interested in using fabric to sew.
