Instructor: Jasmine Kornell
Saturday, December 11th 10am-4pm
In this one-day intensive workshop, you will learn how to use natural dyes on protein, or animal fibers. The basics of fabric mordanting and dye extraction will be covered as well as some simple resist techniques to enhance color variations. Students will have the opportunity for open experimentation and will leave the class with a variety of samples and studies. All materials are included. We will be primarily working with silk and wool, but these techniques can be used with any other animal fiber. Students are welcome to bring additional potential dye material for experimentation.
