Ikat is a yarn dyeing technique that employs tight wrapping of warp or weft bundles in specific areas to resist dye. This class will focus almost exclusively on warp ikat dyeing.  Participants will design and execute their own multi-color ikat warp. Considerations for using the warp including warping techniques will also be discussed.
Previous warp winding experience is recommended but not required. Please also note that proper ikat binding requires moderate strain on the hands.
